If you believe what you read in the greeting cards, the holidays are supposed to be about family, friends and loved ones. In real life, however, it’s more about Black Friday, Cyber Monday and trying to resist the urge to murder the guy who took your parking spot at the mall. Between your phones, your tablets, your DVR and trying to find out if you can use an online coupon for something that’s already on sale, it’s easy to forget who your family is, much less why they’re important.
This holiday season, find some time to turn off the TV and tune into your family. This is the one time of year, after all, that has an entire genre of songs dedicated to reminding you how important they are.
What better way to reconnect and get close than to physically get close? What I’m saying is, this holiday season, tell your kids to leave their phones in their rooms, crank up the hot tub and climb on in.
Everybody knows about the health benefits of hot tubs. From reduced inflammation to relaxed muscles, the science is well documented — but what about the mental benefits? No matter how fit your body is, how healthy could you really be if your family consists of people you breeze past in the hallways while checking your phone?
