4 of the Best Exercises to Do in a Swim Spa

4 of the Best Exercises to Do in a Swim Spa

A swim spa is ideal for swimming or splashing around, but did you know it is the ultimate exercise machine?  Here are 4 of the best exercises to do in a swim spa.

1. Water Planks

Planks are a great core strengthener. Begin with the noodle vertically in both hands, pressing down into the water toward the floor. Then lean forward until your body is on an incline with your head above the water line. Try holding this position as long as you can. Best for 1-2 minutes.

2. Kickbacks

Stand straight up and face the wall of the swim spa while grabbing the exercise bar. Then raise your right leg and start squeezing your glute while lifting toward the surface. As you reach the top of the motion, try holding for about 10 seconds. Now, bring your right leg down, then repeat this motion with your left leg. Above is one rep, try to aim for 2-3 sets of 10-15 reps.

3. Dumbbell Water-Extensions

You’ll need two dumbbell water weights in the deep end of the pool with jets running for resistance. Walking towards the shallow end of the swim spa, start lifting each dumbbell up until they meet at eye level. Next, extend one weight with one arm. Start lowering that arm while extending the weight in your other arm. Do 10 reps with both arms as walking against the current.

4. Underwater Cycling

When adding optional features like the Stainless-Steel Exercise Bike to your Master Spa, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the ultimate aerobic and fitness workout. Mix it up a little by swimming and running against the current before finishing up on the bike.

Because of the buoyancy, or water’s weightlessness, intense workouts will be more manageable.  Plus, it will minimize the soreness typically felt after such vigorous training on land.
