6 Games to Enjoy in Your Hot Tub This Winter

You didn’t think that hot tub was going to be just for you, did you? When you bring home a new spa, you’ll find out pretty quickly that your popularity skyrockets! The fact is, people of all ages love to use the hot tub. Spending time in the hot tub with your loved ones is a great way to deepen your connection. Any time you spend in the hot tub together is awesome, but if you want to amp up the fun, try these hot tub games!

Sinking Submarine

Give every person a plastic cup, plus you’ll need one more for the “submarine.” Put the submarine in the center of the hot tub (add just a little water, so it floats upright). Then, everyone takes turns pouring water into the submarine. When it’s your turn, pour a little water… or pour in a lot in hopes it will sink for the next player. Just don’t sink the submarine! Whoever sinks it is out. Keep playing until there’s only one player left.

Ping Pong Panic

Turn on the jets and toss a few ping pong balls into the hot tub. Now, splash, wiggle, make waves, or blow air to keep them away from you. If a ping pong ball touches you, you’re out. Every 15 or 30 seconds, add five more ping pong balls to the water. The last one to get hit wins!

Rubber Duck Races

Grab rubber ducks or any other kind of floating toys and let the races begin! Use any method you want to send your duck racing to the other side. Make waves, aim a jet, or blow air. The first duck to touch the other side wins.

Waterproof Board Games

Grab a floating table (a large plastic lid works, too!) and set up one of your favorite games. Bananagrams, math dice, and dominoes work perfectly in the water, but you can find waterproof versions of many other games, too.

Hot Tub Hockey

This one is similar to Rubber Duck Races, but you divide into two teams and use only one rubber duck. Using just air and water, the goal is to send the rubber duck to the other team’s side, while they try to block it and blow it back onto your side. If the duck touches the other team’s wall, your team gets a point. Get three points to win.

Pass the Bottle

Grab a filled water or soda bottle and prepare for some hilarity. The goal of the game is to pass the bottle from person to person all around the hot tub — no hands allowed. You can use any other part of your body to pass the bottle, but you and the person you’re passing to can’t use the same body part. So, you can use your neck to pass to their armpit, but you can’t pass neck to neck. If you drop the bottle, you have to start over, using a different body part to pass the bottle.

Sometimes you want a nice, quiet soak in the hot tub, and sometimes there’s nothing like a hot tub party to liven up the evening!
